But it should come to know surprise to those who know me well, that when I think of this movie, the thing I think about the most, the thing that enchanted me, and would cause me to give it a second, third and perhaps even a fourth look were the amazing, wonderfully, beautiful colors.. on everything from the walls, to the towels to the rugs….

Movies like this make me want to repaint every room in my house… The art directors on Mamma Mia struck the perfect balance between vibrant and faded;

Sun drenched and long shadows.

Wow! That is exactly what I thought. I thought the actors had no chance because it was all about the scenery! The colors were just brilliant. The singing on the dock just knocked me out. It was just wonderful to see it all. I thought of you when I saw the “hide a way.”

I went to see it the day after my youngest daughter got married—needless to say I shed a couple of tears. But, mainly I just smiled and smiled! I loved the colors, the scenery and the happy feelings it evoked. Love that song on the dock!
Is this why you want me to come help you repaint?
I’ll have to watch this one. I’m a sucker for great colors, plus I’m a total dork for liking silly movies.
thanks for the movie review…been wanting to see it for a while and now I know it’s a must 🙂
Even though I am not usually one for bright colors, (I’m working on that…) I really fell in love with the bright and cheery look of Mamma Mia too. It was super gorgeous :o) One better was Memoirs of a Geisha- the images in that movie are breathtaking- LOVE IT!
Have a Happy Day!

[giveaway at my place tomorrow :o)]
I forgot to tell you- whenever I need a dose of color, I come here :o) Everything is always so pretty!

O, what a fun movie! The Broadway play was w-i-l-d…people dancing and singing in the isles!

I still have not seen this one.
I think I need to very soon. Looks great!!
Pierce is so good looking and charming, his singing doesn’t really matter.
Have a great week,
Rosemary
Hi I found somehow found you through a series of links from Tara Frey’s blog. I’m enjoying reading your blog and the lovely photos.
I love color too, and I’m assuming you have probably seen it, but if not, you must see Sofia Coppola’s version of Marie Antoinette. A visual treat as well! I loved Mamma Mia and agree with the poster on Memories of a Geisha…beautiful! 🙂
You are right, the colors are completely yummy. I enjoyed the silliness of it all, too.
