Even though I am a color girl, I love my white base. White fabrics, white furniture, white accents here and there. White twinkle lights, white linen pillows, and white vintage lace.
White is what grounds all the color I bring in, and keeps things from going off the deep end…
White is what soothes my soul on the craziest days, feels cool on the hottest summer day, and cozy on the coldest winter nights…
Here are some of my favorite white (and cream) treasures… and some deep thoughts to go with them!
Unless one decorates one’s house for oneself alone, best leave it bare, for other people are walleyed.
~D.H. Lawrence
Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. ~William Morris
Home is the one place in all this world where hearts are sure of each other. It is the place of confidence. It is the place where we tear off that mask of guarded and suspicious coldness which the world forces us to wear in self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the spot where expressions of tenderness gush out without any sensation of awkwardness and without any dread of ridicule.
~Frederick W. Robertson
