That is sort of from a song that Miles has sung for the past month. It was pretty darn cute, that sweet little boy voice singing away…
If you are a regular reader you know that my kids are regular costume wearers. They are in costume every day. Some times they even go to church in costume. A few weeks ago, Miles didn’t go to church with us, Jack Sparrow did. That is how we roll around here. So when Halloween comes around – the International Day of Wearing Your Costume In Public and Not Getting Weird Looks – my kids go for it with gusto. And at least 2 wardrobe changes….
Oh, and I almost forgot the best part…Total Spent on Costumes? $0! All of it came from the HUGE costume trunk in their room or my fabric closet. Go Team Greer! All you thrifty folks out there have got to be proud of that….
Anyway, here are their pics from this year:
First, this is Wylie dressed up as Baseball Player to go to his school carnival last Friday with his cousin Matthew. Wylie assembled this get-up from start to finish. It is all him.
This is Miles as a Fireman for his Mother’s Day Out party on Wednesday. The hat came from their “fire safety” day 2 weeks ago. I loved it because it had a neck strap and would actually stay on his head.
He also informed me that he was not pretending, and this was not a costume, because in fact he was a fireman and he was going to help save people…. How sweet is that?
Here they are in their official choices for Trick-or-Treating: A Cowboy and a Mummy. Wylie is studying Egypt at school right now, and the whole time I was wrapping him, he was going into very graphic details of how they actually mummified people. All I can say is YUK! But it sure got this 2nd Graders attention and sunk in!
Miles is doing his cowboy shuffle for us.
And Wylie is walking like an (dead) Egyptian….
Happy November everyone!
JERUSALEM… THEY ARE TOO CUTE!!>THEY ARE AT A FUN AGE… I TOTALLY>KNOW ABOUT THE WARDROBE CHANGES…>DRESS-UP IS SO FUN…EVEN WHEN YOU>ARE AN ADULT!! HAPPY NOVEMBER!!
They are way too cute. I love how Halloween isn’t unlike any other day of costume wearing for them. Love it.
Oh, they are so adorable! Wish they had come trick or treating on our street, we had floods of kids all night long (I think the rumor is going around that we’re all saps that give at least three pieces of candy per child… and it’s true).
They are just the sweetest; reminds me of those days not so long ago when my boys were young and cute, now they are grown men and handsome. Somehow it happened in an instant! Enjoy them!>Janet>>PS. Top by for a visit sometime.
I think that’s great that they coordinated what they are learning at school with their costume. That should qualify for some extra credit! Way cute, Jeru! Nancy
