Happy Friday friends! Time to take a look at what I loved on the internet this week:
On Faith
Jimmy Fallon and the Joy of the Lord by Zach Hoag
“I am not interested in an inauthentic emotional life, one which lauds brazen denial as true spirituality.
I am not interested in lying about the pain or covering for the inequality, injustice, oppression, arrogance.
I am not interested in sunny-side superficial spirituality that ignores lament and tells the prophets to declare peace, peace when there is no peace.
But I am also not interested in a life obsessed with the cold darkness, unable to see the brilliant light that is shining all around, all the time.”
On Faith Again (there was just so much good stuff this week!)
Woman, why are you weeping? {When your child becomes Episcopalian} from Amy Peterson
“It isn’t about agreement, exactly. It’s about rooting yourself to a people, saying that you are willing to take not only the good from them but also the bad. It’s about where you pray best.”
On Farmstead
Grass Roots Farmers’ Cooperative is farmer-owned and farmer-operated, and it is right in my backyard – well almost – and it is opening soon! We are very lucky to live in an area that values small farms, farmers, and artisans. Even though we have limited resources in some regards ( only one Whole Foods in the whole state and don’t even get me started on the lack of Trader Joe’s) we have great access to community gardens, Farmer Market’s, Co-Ops, and handmade goods. Grass Roots is the latest addition to this great community of local food sources. Even if you don’t live local you should really go follow them on Facebook – the pics of the baby animals alone is worth it. So. Freaking. Cute.
On Family
OMG. We have had a few conversations of this sort but nothing quite this funny. When I read this Sex-Talk post I laughed so hard I cried all my make-up off. I just love Glennon.
On Fluff
Ok, I love the movie The Holiday and I especially love Kate Winslet’s English Cottage. Thanks to Hooked on Houses I found a vacation version that we could rent if we ever make it to Cornwall. Girls weekend anyone?
On Feast
I have never been big on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day – probably because I don’t love beer or neon green – but this recipe for Irish Bread Braid is killing me. I think this year we may just have to celebrate.
On Fete
In general I love having bigger kids. It is my favorite stage so far. I love their minds, their humor, getting to know who they are going to be as adults. I also love that they can feed/clean/dress themselves – I cannot lie. But sometimes, every now and again, I miss them being little and the cute-factor that came with that stage. Cute like these little diy cupcake toppers from Oh Happy Day. I know longer have any reason to make this sort of cuteness for my boys, but much like window shopping in the posh-all-sizes-too-small neighborhoods, I still like to look. Just so adorable.
Just Because
This makes me so happy. I want to be one of those kids!
Alright y’all that is the round-up for this week!
I hope everyone’s weekend is lovely and just what you need it to be.
Much Love
J
Wonderful, Marvelous!
YES! Girls’ trip to Cornwall please!! 🙂
