It’s that time again – a little gathering of what is making me happy on the interwebs this week:
On Fluff
I love Sara Torbet’s cozy home and her little mini house tour made me so happy this week. It just seems like the kind of home where you could curl up with a cup of coffee and spill all your secrets and know that they would never be betrayed. There is something very Anne of Green Gables about it all.
On Family
Love this parenting strategy from Kristen Howerton. Seriously. This was so me last night.
On Farmstead
Well as I am learning things out here at Preservation Acres take longer to get done than I expected, so I am not sure if we will have chickens this spring or not, BUT when we do get our coop built, I LOVE this idea of planting edible flowers for them from Lisa over at Fresh Eggs Daily!
On Food
Because we are now eating most of our meals at home we have divided up the nights for cooking. Wylie cooks on Tuesday nights and Miles cooks on Thursday nights. Wylie makes a pasta dish and a veggie and Miles makes pizza and salad. We have found that making our own pizza dough is the most economical solution. Probably making it from completely from scratch would be the best, but until the kitchen remodel is done we are sticking with a mix. This Hot Roll mix from Pillsbury is our favorite and Miles can almost do the whole process without my help. Hurrah!
On Faith
This post on Solidarity and privilege and Working Your Ass Off from Heather B. brought tears to my eyes. We all have to do hard things but some of us are born with a leg up. Even though Heather doesn’t mention faith in this post, it hits that place inside me. The place that believes that part of the way I love my neighbor and the world is that I show up and do the hard work of whatever challenge I have been given as a way to honor and acknowledge the privilege that I have as a white, educated, middle class American. It is a way to live a life of gratefulness and not of a life of bitchy grumbling.
On Fete
My Easter Wreath from way back when was featured on Paige’s Party Ideas! Was so fun to see it pop up here!
Just Cause
I have never really been a Lee Ann Womack fan before, but her new album The Way I’m Livin fills part of the whole left in my life by the Dixie Chicks absence.
This is just a small taste of that.
Happy Weekend Friends!
