hobbled holiday

So I am having a hobbled holiday season. And because of this I have had to learn how to modify and adjust, change my expectations, and remember what is truly important.
Here are some things I have learned so far:
The wonder of doing 90% of my shopping online (thank you Amazon!) even for handmade gift supplies
To look past the imperfect execution of decorating ideas when done by others and see instead the love in their effort
How to use the sewing machine peddle with my left foot
How to iron sitting down
To see the beauty instead of the mess
To always carry a sling bag that I can stuff everything I need in
How to use the shopping/cart scooters in big box stores
That the beeeep beeep backing up noise makes Sweet Man giggle everytime
How to take a shower sitting down and backwards
To ask for help more than I am comfortable with
To give clear, step by step, succint, directions
That I am even more independant than I thought I was
To let go. Repeatedly.
What the world looks like from a wheel chair
That I miss garage sales and flea markets very, very much
That we can survive on dinners of cereal or box mac-n-cheese when needed
That I have the best co-workers, friends and family ever
