To say that the last five days have not gone as planned would be an understatement. Not that they were all bad.
Despite a sick husband (mine) and a sick little boy (hers) and a broken foot (me) and several other hurdles, Jeanetta and I persevered and did our first craft show in at least 3 years (maybe more?)
We officially have introduced Bright Ridge CoOp to the world (we are thinking maybe a small Etsy store is in the future…)
Our booth was a haberdashery of new items and items leftover from our Shoppe days.
We even pulled out our dress forms and dressed them up (our “girls” were always a huge hit during our shoppe years.)
We did well for our fist foray into the craft show circuit (it was a very small show) but I still have some goodies leftover. I am thinking of having a blog flash sale later this week…What do you think? Anyone want some posters? A Ho-Ho-Ho banner?
We will probably do one or two local-ish shows a year as we can. For us it is more about being together and having some motivation to try new things and keeping our crafty skills sharp.
After the craft fair I came home to find two very sick boys. They had caught the same crud their daddoe had. High fevers, chills, coughs, headaches…not good.
I had wonderful plans for starting Advent- church, an Advent dinner with friends, getting our Christmas tree up.
But life had other plans. Instead we began our Advent together on the couch (so grateful for a couch we can all fit on comfortably!) watching Empires Strikes Back, no tree in site. (But thankfully we do have our Advent candy calendars thanks to some sweet friends.)
Today we are home resting and staying mellow- the boys were not quite well enough to go to school yet. I am contemplating Christmas cards – to do or not to do – and working on my To Make, To Bake and To Buy list.
Make sure to come back tomorrow- I will be announcing all the winners from last weeks Jolly Goode Giveaways!
Why did we never do craft fairs before? So much fun. My mind is reeling with booth designs.
Yes please…I love your posters!
I would love to see your posters!!
looks like you had fun at the craft fair, hope your guys feel better quickly.
I'm sorry about your sick boys 🙁 hope everyone gets better soon! And please have a sale, it would make my week!!
