Happy Wednesday friends. Can you believe that this time next week all of us in the USA we will be prepping for Thanksgiving? I cannot believe that it is so close, but I could not be more excited. I am on pie duty for my families gathering and this is what I think I am going with: Sweet Potato Pie, Rhubarb Crumble and Chocolate Pecan. I have made the chocolate pecan before and it is GOOD.
Do you crush on Meg’s Craft Weekends as much as I do?
If I found a way to host a craft & faith weekend at Meg’s place in conjunction with my book would you want to come? Just curious.
I think I have settled (finally) on a chair plan for the dining room.
These are not the colors I am going with, but this general arrangement by Sarah Richardson is my inspiration. Of course I am going to give it the jolly goode treatment, which means lots of color and whimsy.
And I am going to finish the kitchen nook make-over this weekend. Scouts honor.
The day I discovered Anne Lamott and her book Traveling Mercies is one of those days that goes into the record book under the heading “Transforming Moments,” next to things like Getting Married, Having Babies, and Realizing My Thighs Will Always Touch. She changed my life for the better, dramatic as it sounds, it is true.
Her newest release is at the top of my Christmas wish list. Yesterday I found this Interview with her and since then these words have been floating around me like the stars that appear whenever a cartoon character has been hit on the head.

I (try to) get all thirsty people water. I try to be a good listener. I try to keep things simple.

I love pie! You know it's my favorite!
I would definitely be up for a weekend like this. Though I cannot promise I will actually craft. 🙂

OK–a craft weekend at Meg's based on your upcoming book? Yes, please! Never mind that neither of you know me! I'd just pull the blog-stalking, Arkansas girl, OBU grad card! Love your blog and cannot wait til the book is out.
