I was looking through some old photos and I found this display I did a few years ago for Mother’s Day.
See the little girl with the bow? That is my mother. And of course that is her mother holding my aunt.
Those three are three of my very favoritetist mother’s in the whole world.
I am the mother I am in large part because of them.
I used vintage light fixture globes as my theme. I love the industrial design details mixed with the flowers and soft colors. This one would look good with a flame-less tea light inside I think.
I think the “cage” globe is my favorite. Love, love the old metal.
And that is me, minutes old, with my momma.
I am a lucky girl. My momma is the best in the world and this is one of my favorite picture of us.
Here is the mantle all done up. Looking all of this I realize how long ago this was, how much has happened between the then and the now.
Those sconces are now aqua and live on the pink porch.
The birdy was made by Jeanetta.
And look at that cute banner! Wonder who made that?? Seems like I used to know someone who spend hours with the glitter and the die cutter… And who decorated her mantle…Among other things.
Hmm. Bet she is still around here somewhere…
It is beautiful!! I bet the sconces look gorgeous in aqua!! Have a great day!! xo Heather
Love it! Love the use of the old light fixtures.
What memories on a mantel! I love the light glass as a display place. So original!
It’s not love that hurts. It’s the infatuation with what we so blindly and foolishly accept as love that hurts. True love should never have to hurt.
