This weekend Sweet Man and I ran away.
We ran three hours north west and we did nothing important for 36 hours.
We stayed in a nice hotel. We ate good food. We drank decent wine. We hit a big clean Goodwill and found some bargains.
We had plans to hit more antique stores. To visit a new art museum. To stroll the historic downtown and browse the much lauded used book store.
Instead we slept-in. I visited the hot tub. We took a nap. We read.
Eventually we’ll go back when the weather is warmer and enjoy the more high brow amenities.
But for this weekend this trip was exactly what we needed: spur of the moment, lovely and mellow.
While we were away there was a showing of our house, and in anticipation of this we had tidied the house up before we left. Do you know how wonderful it is to come home on a Sunday evening to spotless house after 36 hours away with just your true love? If not, I highly recommend it.
Also vintage sheets hanging as curtains in the kitchen – I highly recommend those as well.
Especially if you just need a little pick-me up.
Happy Monday friends!
Sounds absolutley wonderful, my husband and i did just that a few weeks ago. It was lovely! And those vintage sheets are amazing. I wanna now where everyone gets those fabulous vintage sheets so adorable!
I always love visiting your blog, esp on Mondays when I need a little cheer!

Actually I have no idea what that feels like but I'm happy that you do! I love the fabric on those vintage sheet/curtains. So happy!
Sounds like you were in Fayetteville. IF you were – is that the Goodwill you hit? I swear, I go there almost daily lately. It is so nice and so handy. I was there Saturday and Sunday.
so glad you two had a weekend away, and yes, I can imagine how glorious it would be also come to a clean house.
I gotta get me one of those “true love” things (starting with me) you speak of, though 😉
xoxo
