A friend gave me this book after I raved about The Help.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters and the Southern setting.
The book is similar to The Help in that it is told from a variety of perspectives- all women, all ages, all connected. The majority of the story takes place in a nursing home and honestly it really gave me a greater understanding, respect and compassion for those who live and work there.
I love Maeve Binchey. Her books are always easy, entertaining, well written, & interesting.
I also love how she weaves so many stories together throughout her various books without making them a hardcore series. Each time I pick one up I feel as if I am revisiting a favorite vacation spot, where I have begun to know the natives well after years of returning to the same cafe, the same bookstore, the same rental cottage.
This selection is more work/research related, but my friend Amy highly recommends it so I am looking forward to it.
It feels good to read again and I am excited about picking up some more fiction selections soon.
Got any suggestions?
