Brave is my word for 2011.
Scary huh?
But I don’t pick the words, the pick me.
So we shall see.
My word for today so far is Sleepy.
Ever have one of those mornings where you wake up and you don’t feel like you slept at all?
You are all jittery and achy and your eye lids are so heavy, that you could swear, that instead of sleeping all night, you wrestled an elephant?
It’s kinda like how you felt in college when you only got 2 hours of shut eye before a Final Exam.
Yep, that is me today.
Lovely.
You are not the Lone Ranger… for some strange reason I've been lethargic for days now… just rolling out of bed has been an effort! *Yikes* This is not how I envisioned the New Year starting!!!
May we both find renewed energy and vitality soon! I don't know about you but I have too much to do to languish in bed or feel wrung out… *wink*

Brave is such a powerful and it takes much strength to be brave.

Wow, I just discovered the word/words for the year idea and love it. Brave is powerful! I believe you already ARE brave adopting 2 little girls takes a lot of love, faith and bravery.
My whole household is feeling lethargic after a gentle, cozy, warm Christmas holiday. We're all in this together, right?
This is what I enjoy most about blogging, similar life experiences in different places all around the world. Sharing our aches, pains, joys, losses and loves.
Connecting and realizing we are not alone.
Thanks for sharing,
Donna
Good words. I know you you feel, think it's the weather. (You can blame almost anything on the weather, and I do.)
brave. fantastic word.
I'm feeling sleepy this morning also.
Happy day to you!
Amen. AMEN ON THE SLEEPY!
Please tell me you are familiar with Nichole Nordeman's cd, “Brave”. That entire album is the sound-track of my life. All-time fave.
just found you. i like your word for the year.
mine is “discernment.”
it screams a bit of church committees, but i am claiming it to be that and more.
eager to read more,

great word! i decided to try the one word focus this year too.
such a great idea.
Hi, I read visit your blog everyday and have only left one or two comments before, but I had to leave a comment tody! I have the same word of the year. It had to be this word–I was inspired by my 86 year old mother who chose to have open heart surgery {5 bypasses} 6 weeks ago. Not opting for the surgery would have meant a soon departing day {6 months or less}, so she chose life. She was very brave to have th surgery with so much uncertainty about the outcome and now looking at a 2 year recovery from the surgery! I want to be brave, too. My second word is LIVE. My mom loves life enough to face unknowns and much pain. I vow to LIVE this year with much gusto and courage!
Thank you for blogging– I love your little life!
Pam
2 questions: what was your word for 2010? I can't remember & didn't see a “search” button on your blog.
And, how did your word choose you? I've been waiting for my word to choose me, but I'm wondering how I'll know. I've been debating over 4 words, and am really stuck over choosing what bests encompasses what I'm looking for this year.
xoxo
