The past 2 nights have been filled with small, intimate holiday gatherings with some of our very best friends.
Each night I have gone to bed with my heart full to overflowing.
I am so so grateful for their honesty. Their laughter. Their outlook on life. Their love of me, of my children and husband. Their support, encouragement; Their genuine excitement when things go right, their genuine concern when things go wrong.
Their complete lack of pretense.
Their continuing friendship throughout the years is always one of my favorite Christmas gifts.
My life is so much brighter, so much richer, so much MORE because of them.
My wish this Christmas for them, for us, is as the song says
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now

Jerusalem, I hope you're taking photos of all your Christmas crafting. You've such a creative family. Every visit to Adam and Jemimah's apartment in Germany was an advernture! I was always asking, “Tell me about this…” And she was always saying, “Oh, my Mom (or) my sister made that…” You've such an eye for color and the “things” that evoke wonderful memeories and make you fell cozy and loved. I've just run across a visually pleasing blog that reminded me of you. It's holidaywithmatthewmead. Lots of creative ideas to inspre you.
I wish you and your a very Happy Christmas!
