Saturday night was my Shutterfly House Party
It is the last brew-ha-ha around here for a while as I am all party-ed out.
At least through the end of November ( I would never make those sorts of sweeping statements in reference to December after all…)
The party was small but perfect.
Just the right amount of guest, different groups of friends meeting for the first time. Lots of time to sit and mingle and actually hold real conversations, not just party small talk (I am so terrible at that.)
It was a sweet and simple gals-night-out with a fun favor basket to take home, filled with a great reusable shopping bag, a coupon for a Free 8×8 Photo Book and a coupon for a free set of 10 Holiday Cards for each guest.
Shutterfly sent the bags and the coupon books, but I wanted to gussy them up a little bit, so filled little farmers market produce baskets I bought at a garage sale with all the goodies and then added some of my shredded party paper to fluff out the basket.
I must have walked around Wal-Mart for 30 minutes trying to decide on a menu that wouldn’t break the bank but that would still be fun.
I knew I wanted to have at least one protein item on hand because I know when I go to a party I like to have something to balance out all the sweets. Even if I don’t expect a meal to be served or heavy app’s, I at least want a cube of cheese or a few nuts to balance out the sugar rush I am bound to inflict on myself.
I had 2 food “stations” though that sounds too formal for what they really were…
In the dining room I served Thin Sliced Hard Salami, Warm Brie, Walnuts and Italian Herb Bread

In the kitchen I had a little Cocoa Bar set up with things to make delish hot beverages and sweet treats…
I put out Dark Chocolate Cocoa, Homemade Whip Cream, Creme deMint, Baileys Irish Cream, the ingredients for S’Mores, Coffee, Hot Tea, Pocky Stick
s and Pirouette cookies.
I must say it was all very yummy and I was glad I went with hot drinks on such a cold night…
But I couldn’t just tell you about the party – I want to share it with you too!
So I am giving away one of the FREE 8×8 Photo Books and 1 Pack of 10 Holiday Greeting Cards of your choice from Shutterfly.com!
