This week has been a roller coaster.
Miles and I have been sick. We are all worn out from getting the house ready for a big magazine shoot that we had this week.
That’s right. A magazine shoot. At my house.
Pinch me now!
Divine Art Director at Large Sunday Hendrickson (Fifi’s best pal) and the wonderful and funny photographer Mark Lohman came all the way from L.A. to take pictures of my little casa.
OK, so they were doing a big Arkansas trip taking pictures of lots of houses, not just mine.
But still!
Sunday and Mark are the loveliest of people, I could not have asked for sweeter people to spend the day with! I felt as if I had always known them. Kindred creative spirits I guess.
One my favorite things we did was “talk shop” about the magazine world – it was fascinating to be able to talk to people who actually know the editors of magazines like Country Living or Country Home and to talk about all the changes that have occurred over the past few years.
You can see Mark and Sunday’s work in Country Living, Romantic Country, This Old House, Victoria and so many more publications. They freelance for such a wide variety of magazines within a vast array of styles.
It was great to see how they work and their process for setting up shots.
They came to shoot my house for Cottage Style which will be out in the spring.
Remember how I said this week has been a roller coaster? Well it has. Among some of the crazier things that happened, I lost 75 pictures that I took on Tuesday of Sunday and Mark and the whole wonderful day.
Luckily Miles got a hold of my phone and took a few to remember the day. He and Mark became big buddies, having a lot of fun together as you can see.
Despite the lack of great documentation left, I will always remember this day and how much fun it was, how blessed I am to have experienced something so rare and to have met such wonderful people.
SHUT UP!! I demand an autographed copy!! 🙂 So stinkin' excited for you right about now! How super fun that you live in a place people want to look at in a magazine & pretend they live there!! 🙂 Hope you're feeling better this week… ((HUGS))
YIPEE! So exciting, can't wait to see it!!!
Oh my gosh! Did anyone pinch you to see if you'd wake up???? Yea, for you, Jerusalem. Hope you're feeling better.
Wow! Your house is so cute! We love your style of decorating and we are on the hunt for some of your patchwork faux quilt fabric…Do you know where we can get some? We love…love…love it!
We already bought the magazine with your house photos in it 🙂
Thank you for sharing,
*Have a lovely weekend
