on my wee summer break I got the chance to spend a few days sitting still and doing not a whole lot of anything at my mother’s and my grandmother’s house.

I find that sometimes it is easier for me to relax if my hands have something to keep them busy. Also I find that it helps – at family gatherings especially – that if my hands are busy my mouth stays shut, which is usually – with family – the best plan.

I leave the “debating” to the young and the old. I like to just sit curled up in the corner of the couch and stitch, with all my family buzzing about me, drinking my coffee, enjoying just being in the middle of it.
Clever and wise at the same time. Wow!
