Somehow this crazy last week of school we managed to get some projects done around the house.
We were motivated because we thought we were having an end of the school year cook-out on Friday, but 3 days of on-again-off-again thunderstorms canceled postponed those plans.
However we remained motivated to get a few things done – in case the rain didn’t come – and here is what we accomplished:
New pillows in the living room
Roughly painted ceiling beams on the porch (thanks Dennis!!)
Lighting wired and hung on the porch (thanks Sweet Man!!)
And glider moved from front porch to back (thanks fella’s!)
(All the lights and the fan came from our Habitat ReStore. I think I paid all of $20 for all 5 fixtures.)
There are still several things to get done on the back porch (rug, curtains, cushions…)
but at least now we have a ceiling fan and lots of lights!
These are some of the rugs I am looking at:
Thinking they would be bright and cheery and easy to clean as they are almost plastic.
Just rinse them off with a hose!
And I loved the big seat cushions in this pattern that Pier 1 had a while ago.
Wish I could find something similar for the glider seat.
Looking at it all now I am thinking maybe those napkin pillows really belong on the porch!
love the lights!! can't wait to see more.
Oh my lands I love the lights! I also love the chairs slipcovered in (I'm guessing here) bedspreads? Love them!!!
Um, can I move in with y'all?? LOVE the pillows!! Those lights you got were a bargain-our ReStore would have charged $20 for one. Yikes!! Though I did get some great deals from there a few weeks ago. I was wondering…the flooding that happened at a campground in AR., is it one y'all go to?? Such a scary thing…

I think the kitchen stripe outdoor rug by Dash and Albert would look stunning out there…its looking so cute out there
Gorgeous! I'm a new follower and love your blog already!
Can you tell me where you found those rugs? I love the colors. That is exactly what I have been looking for!
