Back in June I entered a giveaway of the also-very-talented Melissa Hubbell– at her blog – The Garden of Pink Shadows, and to my happy surprise, I won! The prize was a great little odds & ends scrap pack for me to make my own fabric collage with…
Of course life has been full of changes the past few months, and I feel like I am just now getting my sea legs, adjusting to the time change, coming up for air etc. There has not been much time for trying out a new craft.
But on Monday, on a last-minute whim, I grabbed the pack, along with some old embroidery supplies I had and some extra fabric pieces, stuffed them all in a bag, and took them with me to my grandmother’s house, where we were having dinner that night.
Sitting on my Maw’s screened in porch, working on needle-pointish things is just about as good as it gets in terms of relaxing and happiness.
Of course her dismay at my lack of thimble skills was pretty darn cute too. “I should have made you learn how to use one when you were little! Shame on me!” she declared more than once.
Oh it is so so pretty! I want one of those! I would hang it on my wall. It's dreamy.
Oh-so pretty! Just love it!
Love this new project you picked up.. I have been doing some stitching too.. I have loved Pam Garrison and her projects.. You are doing a great job.. Really beautiful..
Looks very cute not bad for a first, I say keep going!
Hugs, Diane
Very, very pretty. I've had the same ideas about stitching and fabric scraps…seems I'm always in the car “waiting” for something and would love to have a small project to work on.

That's awesome…and ironic because I just started to embroider, too. I highly recommend the book Doodle Stitching, although I can't think of the author's name. Adam keeps asking me what I'm going to do with my creations & when I said I didn't know, he said he may have to cut me off until I figure it out. But it's so relaxing to stitch, isn't it?
Really cute! You did a great job! I love the greens!
Hugs, Lisa
You are good. This is wonderful!!
Very cute! I love the bird and the sing. I would love to see it transferred on to a coffee mug. Nancy
I absolutly love the fact you were stitching with your Gran on a pourch! I have so much fabric and scraps. I'm going to give this a try. I also want to try one of the journals everyone is doing. Maybe I'll add my stitching to my journal. Thanks for the inspiration!
