we are home from our lovely & wonderful camping trip to Gilbert, AR, where
we went with our church for the annual “Float the Buffalo” trip.
Some wonderful, sweet and generous friends lent us their fab pop-up camper for the trip and I have to say, we are completely hooked on camping this way now.
The first thing I did last night after everyone was settled in back home, was get on Craigslist and start pricing used pop-up’s and dreaming of the curtains I could make, the fabric I would use on the seat cushions…. Someday (fingers crossed) we will be proud owners of our own little camper.

I loved the few moments I was able to lie in there and read, surrounded by the sun and shade and perfect breeze, but with the screen to protect me from the bugs. The weather was absolutely perfect all weekend and I know we have been spoiled by it. But I am so grateful that our first big camping adventure as a family was such a lovely experience and not ruined by the rain of the previous weeks or the extreme heat we know is coming our way by August.
Family table set for dinner. I was determined to take and use all our cute picnic stuff. Also I was trying to camp as green & budget conscience as possible. Using what we have on hand, not creating too much waste etc. Once when I was washing dishes in a bucket of water, one of the other camping kids came up and asked “are you doing things like in old times?”
One of my favorite parts of camping in a big group like this was all the kids running around. I even had some volunteer help in setting my table.
As my Sweet Man said on the way home “well we had about as much fun as you can legally have!” I would have to agree wholeheartedly.
Now, it is time to unpack. Darn.
What a beautiful, vintage outing. You almost make me want to go camping. Wait, nope, the moment has passed! LOL!
I knew it was going to be over-the-top cool. Your beds and table are oh so pretty. I think a pop up camper is the perfect answer for you. All young families need to get out there in nature and let the kids RUN.

I also noticed the Country Living on the stool and thought you would be the perfect person to ask if you have seen those gorgeous metal painted tumblers anywhere here in North America? I think they are so charming but can’t find them anywhere. I am in love again…
