Today I stumbled across this little challenge by Heidi and I had to jump in. something about it just called -I have no idea why. I have never even seen a Candy Cup, let alone made one! But suddenly I found myself digging through my recently (thank goodness!) re-organized stash of odds and ends, and then voila! a candy cup emerged…And my favorite quote by Emily D. was my inspiration all the way… Can you guess what it is?
I had to set my little Chick and Cup combo with Anne Shirley, who is I think my favorite doll of all (shh, please don’t tell the others.)
I love her worn-ness, her cracks and rag dress, her awkward red hair hastily glued on her head (she was originally a baby doll from what I can tell…) and her pink, pink cheeks that seem happy despite it all. I think that perhaps Emily D. would love her also, perhaps.
After all…
Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all…

Yeah, I have to be a Negative Nelly here and point out that it’s Emily Dickinson. Sorry. I’m sure it was just a typo. Love you.
