I am afraid to ask which one is next.
At least BHG is still around (knock on wood.) While never my favorite (mostly b/c of too thin pages and lots of stuff in the back half that I never read) I can always count on BHG to come through with some great houses to share.

This kitchen in the latest edition is no exception. I just adore it! I love the wall color, the punches of pink , the glass door fronts, the subway tile back splash behind the stove,…
I really love this end piece of cabinetry that they built here to look more like furniture with the turned wooden legs and beadboard back.
I would say that this is exactly how I want my kitchen to look but it isn’t. As much as I love, love full white cabinetry kitchens in magazines, it is not where my kitchen is headed.
For one thing, I could never keep them clean enough, and that is OK, I am not beating myself up about it. It is just a fact.
And for another thing, I just love color to darn much. Light green cabinets are my favorite in person, and that is just how it is.

This is another picture I pulled out of a recent BHG magazine, but I can’t remember which issue. I just ripped it and stuck in my idea folder.

Sometimes when I rip a page out of a magazine I will go back and take more close up pictures of the page myself, so that I can focus in on a certain detail. Blow it up on my computer monitor and dissect what I love about it even more.
Or these rolls of ribbon and little shell covered box.
So cute.
What we will do if all the magazines die? I love the internet, I do, but it is not the same has having a magazine in your hand, to wear out, flip through and rip from time and time again.
We also recently lost Cottage Living, and maybe 2008 was the year that both Adorn and Cutting Edge died a painful death too? (I really like those last two for crafting.)>>Anyway…lol. I have all white cabinets. Look nice? Check. Nightmare fuel in regards to cleanliness? Double check. They are always, always dirty. And before those Mr Clean Magic Erasers they were SO hard to get clean.
Yummy pictures. Oh how I long for a white kitchen. Love those pics of a creative space. >>I am just so sick about losing all of these magazines. I have hardly any subscriptions left. Thank God for Somerset Magazines or I would go stark raving mad.
Ooh, that kitchen just makes my heart pitter pat!! I will be adding that to my files as well (don't have the mag yet, my mom gets it and gives it to me). >>My kitchen cabinets have always been white though & never had problems keeping them clean (that's with 2 boys!!). >>I just found one of MEHC's spring 08 issues behind my couch (ha!) and cried again over it.
Oh!! Now I am super sad. Super-duper sad. Somehow I missed the info about Country Home. I love magazines and I DO NOT want to be reduced to Vogue and BHAG. I have never subscribed to BHAG because of the too-thin pages and the absolutly enormous amount of adds. >>I also can’t help being a little mad at ME herself. She has <>more than enough<> money to publish that magazine herself. Bummed, I tell you.
Really is sad to me about all the ones that have fallen by the wayside, particularly MEHC. What a clever idea to blow up the page…may have to try that myself!>>c
Here are ideas for tile mural installations , tips on framing the tiles and using field tiles to coordinate with the mural.. Considering the use of found vintage labels and a great way to showcase retro art. >>http://aliciatappdesigns.com/customer_testimonials.htm
Magazine addict here, especially the American mags, so much gorgeous-ness! You can go back and look at them over and over. Racahelxo
I'm a magaholic & just heard about Domino today. I didn't know about Country Home. Also Simple scrapbooks is done.
Losing our magazines is a sad indication of the trickle down effect on our economy – not enough ads, no mag. Yes, the Internet is fantastic, but I like to hold it (mag) in my hand. So glad I've saved all my MEHCs & Country Homes.>Jane
I’ve heard of the demise of all of these but didn’t know about Home Companion. I’m sorry, but as much as I love my computer for blogging and googling, there is nothing like sitting down in comfy chair and pouring through a magazine. Perhaps it will take one of us industrious gals to come up with the magazine that revives the idea of the magazine.>>Danw
Hi Jerusalem…sorta new to your blog.Love It! I am also crying over my favorite mag’s no longer publishing. that is one of the great things about blogs – their like little mini mag features- especially when they post everyday. thanks pamela>http://www.frenchknots.blogspot.com

Ok. Those kitchen pictures. I think I might have a heart attack… PEFECTION. Now, how can I get my office to look like that? 🙂
Domino too? i didn’t hear about that one yet. I just received a postcard saying i’d receive Martha Stewart Living instead of MEHC. It’s just not the same…>>I’m new to your blog and really enjoy it! i’ve added your link to my blog too. thanks!>>bnute.blogspot.com
