Well, it is the 1st Thursday of the month so that means it is “Shop-n-Sip” in the neighborhood where our local shoppe is. Shop-n-Sip is a night where all the shops stay open late, serve little bits of free wine and beer and have local bands playing on the front lawn… It is a big retail night and everyone works a little harder to have things looking new and cute! I like that it is a monthly event because it keeps me on my toes as far as moving things around in the shop, bringing in new items and ushering out old ones for awhile.
Usually my new items revolve around the nearest holiday, but we really don’t have another biggie until Halloween. So I thought I would go with a “Back to School” theme. I made a banner, brought in some old Reader’s from 1928, added pencils and rulers to the display and called it done! (Don’t you love Miss Bessie, our school mistress?)
I have a few more ideas I want to explore, but there just wasn’t any time to work on them before Shop-n-Sip … But they are still there, rolling around in my brain and I have faith that I will get to them eventually!

Jerusalem- Love, love, love the back to school idea! I just love your shop photos. I’m just itching to have a shop of my own although God know how I’d refrain from just keeping it all for me. I save pictures of your displays in case I get to realize that dream one day. Pretty pathetic huh? I’d love for you to post one day on how you got started down your current path.
