Well, see I went and made a statement about Monday having a theme and now I don’t have anything that goes with that theme. Shoot.
Except that I had a loose end I needed to tie up, so maybe that counts?
I had a “Rewards Certificate” that I had to use at Pottery Barn before tomorrow. Of course when the pressure is on like this I am usually struck immobile. Suddenly nothing is what I want, or can use, or have room for or is a price I can afford (even with the lovely certif the Belgian Sofa was a smidgen out of range….)
So in a moment of Buyers Desperation I grabbed this striped duvet cover because of it’s Old Linen Ticking/French General air about it and thought maybe I could make it work in my bedroom.

I love to throw a bold piece into a room when I am at a loss as to what to do next. A zebra print rug, a huge old map, a black piece of furniture in an almost all white room… And I thought, just maybe a bold red striped duvet cover would be just the trick for my bedding blahs….

PS- These pictures were taken very “on the fly” and no real fluffing was done… If you look closely you can see how we really live with our side tables piled high…
You are not alone. Same thing happens to me. When I have no money everything is appealing and when I have money/gift cards etc that must be spent I just agonize to find something. I DO love the boldness of the stripe for a change from the petite floral.>>Janet
I can rarely find just the thing I need/want when I have extra cash or a gift card to use just for fun! I love how you spent yours!>>Great loose end!>>Pat
I love that splash of red in your room. It really works. I don’t have a paint suggestion for you. That is such a ridiculously hard decision for me. I wish you luck and I look forward to seeing the end result.
I’m the same way; if I have “free” money to spend, I can’t find a thing! the red duvet is perfect, though!
I think we are all the same. We can never find things when the pressure is on.>I love your new duvet cover.>I love real life.>Thanks for sharing,>Rosemary
Love the Stripes! Very Amelie.
“Fluffing” would really be piling it on for someone who already has so much natural grace and talent!>>love, dad
