Looking back over the remaining pictures from the Illinois trip, I keep coming across pictures that are supposed to be of something else, but really just end up being about the gigantic sky that hangs over that part of the country. In Illinois, the road stretched straight ahead into infinity. Big sky above, Fields on either sides. Everything is so open. If people in Illinois have secrets, they ... View Post
Hobnob Summer Market Round-Up
I am still attempting to get unpacked, and tackle all the chores that have piled up around here during the book tour. So instead of trying to put together a coherent stream of deep thoughts -or even just original thoughts-I have decided to take the easy way out and just post lots of pictures of vendor booths from the Hobnob Summer Market last weekend. Summer Church Camp for Grown-Ups
Oh how I love Camp Mitchell in Petit Jean, Arkansas Last weekend I got to do something I love. Go to church camp. But not just any church camp. Church camp for grown-up ladies. {Well, gals who masquerade around as grown-up ladies by day anyhoo.} In theory I was there because I was leading A Homemade Year workshop. In reality, I was there because it was exactly where I was supposed to ... View Post
Folkcation

Well, in our case, it was a mini- vacation spent at the Ozark Folk Center and on the square in Mountain View, Arkansas. Now why would we want to do that sort of thing for a getaway? (Some of you more ... View Post
